Sugar corn

A new area of VNIS's activity is vegetable crop breeding. Along with other field crops, VNIS is engaged in vegetable corn and has a strong breeding program for sugar corn.

Modern sh-2 sugar corn hybrids developed by VNIS are characterized by excellent yield potential, high disease resistance and high levels of mono- and disaccharides over a long period of time.

Areas of use of VNIS sh-2 type sugar corn hybrids: fresh market and processing: freezing and canning.
