The most promising sunflower hybrids for the season 2023: VNIS experts named three leaders

Every year, the company offers a wide range of hybrids to Ukrainian farmers so that everyone can get the most out of their fields.

Therefore, we propose to consider the most promising hybrids for the 2023 season:

Undoubtedly, the first in this top will be the Shenon hybrid.

Shenon is resistant to herbicides containing tribenuron-methyl. The hybrid combines unique resistance to diseases, drought and new races of broomrape. It is characterized by consistently high yields and maximum heading. It is highly resistant to downy mildew.

Top 2 in our rating is Laim.

It is a well-known hybrid for classical technology, which shows stable results despite the unfavorable conditions this year.

Laim is a super-yielding and stable sunflower hybrid with a growing season of 100 days. It provides record yields in its maturity group. Resistant to new races of sunflower broomrape A-G+. The hybrid is drought-resistant, highly adaptable to different growing conditions, and provides good results even with extensive cultivation technology. Laim has a very high resistance to rust and downy mildew. It responds well to increased amounts of potash and phosphorus fertilizers.

  • Rivne region, Mlyniv district - 35 cwt/ha
  • Cherkasy region, Zolotonosha district - 30 centners per hectare

And the top of our list is Karlos 105, a high-yielding hybrid of intensive type. It is resistant to imidazolinones. It has good growth energy and high yield potential. The advantages of the hybrid are high adaptability, environmental plasticity and stability.
