VNIS at the International Field Day in Mykolaiv 2025

On May 29, 2025, Mykolaiv hosted International Field Day, organized by Mykolaiv National Agrarian University as part of the forum “Food Security of Ukraine in the Context of Post-War Recovery: Global and National Dimensions.” This event brought together farmers, scientists, students, and partners to discuss modern technologies in agriculture. Among the participants was VNIS (Ukrainian scientific institute of plant breeding).

Field Day as a hub for professional dialogue and agricultural innovation

Field Day in Mykolaiv became a hub for professional dialogue under the slogan “Food security in Ukraine during the post-war reconstruction period.” Farmers, scientists, students, and business partners gathered here to jointly seek answers to the challenges facing the southern regions.

The event organizer, Mykolaiv National Agrarian University, combined in-depth reports on resource-efficient technologies, presentations of innovative varieties and hybrids of field crops (more than 400 were presented), and demonstrations of soil cultivation and irrigation machinery, which is particularly important for the Mykolaiv region.

The main topics of discussion covered the restoration of productivity in mined and damaged fields, improving water use efficiency, and introducing adaptive plant nutrition systems so that farmers in the south could return to pre-war harvest levels as quickly as possible.

VNIS demonstration plots

VNIS specialists actively communicated with visitors to the event, providing advice on the selection of hybrids, cultivation technologies, and plant protection. The company also presented demonstration plots where farmers could see the results of growing new hybrids in field conditions. Among the large number of varieties and hybrids from Ukraine and abroad, two VNIS winter rapeseed hybrids were sown:

The hybrids demonstrated high adaptability to the southern regions of Ukraine and once again assured farmers of their drought resistance and yield.

VNIS sales representatives also answered questions from visitors and talked about sunflower and corn hybrids. They also drew attention to the latest additions to our selection.
